Ascending Dawn with their melodic prog-metal design, is a project with members from across the globe, fronted by Greek/Cypriot singer Marlain Angelides.
The collaboration between Marlain, Mark Weatherley (drums/guitars) and Owen Rees (guitars) began in London in 2013. Marlain’s background in rock and pop yielded surprising results when demoing material over the heavily prog based music. Jennifer Fletcher is featured on bass as a major contributor to the original sound. All members, each well experienced in their live work with years in the industry, individually brought their own unique influence. The sound is recognizable as thoughtful and provocative with hard-hitting, complex and honest lyrical themes.
"Coalesce", Ascending Dawn's first album - a collection of 9 tracks, was mixed and mastered by Jochem Jacobs (ex-Textures) at Split Second Sound. Jennifer Fletcher is featured on bass as a major contributor to the original sound. Coalesce was released in Dec 2017 and since then the project has garnered attention from fans and various music sites, with their heavy but ambient sound coupled with powerful vocals, being cited as 'unusually slick' for a debut album. This is probably due to that although AD is a new band, everyone involved is well seasoned in prior metal/rock projects, each with an intense history of their own.
Current Project Members:
